Samos

After checking in and having our washing done by the guy on the front desk (very generous of him), we ventured opposite for Menu del Dia, vino tinto, followed by a stroll around town. We stopped at the the local hotel for some more tinto (hard walk those 300m) and then back to the Monastery for the tour. Before and after the tour, the guide tried to contact Padre Augustine, to allow me to show him some photos of the book he is in and a photo of him and HJ from 4 years ago. Unfortunately he could not be contacted, so she said come back at 7:15pm.
We left Compass in his room for a rest, as the congestion seemed to be bothering him a bit.
A siesta followed by a G&T and a walk back to the Monastery, we were guided to the church, where he was presiding the evening service. We went in and sat for a while, then did a strategic exit, as it looked like a full evening mass and attending a church service on consecutive days would be a bit rich...we had attended a Pligrims Mass in Triacastela. After a short stroll to the pharmacy (which was still closed) we stopped for a G&T (after another hard 300m walk), and back to our rooms for a shower and bed....after I update the blog.
I'll post a picture of the Monastery tomorrow, TTFN....(TL).
