When You Go Out In The Woods Today....

...you need to know where you are going.
Leaving Triacastela, we followed a guy and as HJ and I had walked along this path before, I thought nothing of it, except I remembered walking along between this farmhouse and the shed.
We stopped for a photo there and then continued. I did note that the path was not as lush or beautiful as I remembered it, but we continued on anyway. We stopped at this small place for very nice bacon and eggs (Fos had ham just be contrary) and then we continued walking, with me thinking again, that it was not as beautiful as I remembered and we had not come across the weir and waterfall where HJ and I had our photo taken. It was only after Fos complained about it being more than 13km, did I bother looking at the GPS. To my horror, we were 3/4 the way to Sarria, bypassing Samos altogether, which is where our bags and bed were for tonight. Only then did the others admit that they had looked at Brierley last night and had thought nothing about the direction we had taken.
Compass was a little under the weather with congestion, so he has an excuse.
We all heard Kluster in our minds giving us 'curry' about going in the wrong direction and lining himself up for a coup for the TLs job.
We continued walking towards Sarria and dropped into a bar for a beer, as the sun was over the yard-arm and whilst we waited for a taxi, quenched our thirst.
I must add at this point that we were about 8km as the crow flies from Samos and about 14km by road, so a taxi seemed the best option....after all, we had done our requisite 13km today (about 16 actually) so we stamped our passports at the bar, bundled into the taxi and were off to Samos.
We alighted the taxi at the side of the Monastery, so we could not be spotted getting out of the taxi, collected our stuff from the boot of the taxi and boldly strolled into Samos like Pilgrims do when the have done their penance....the required distance. We had, just that we had done it in the wrong direction....but who would know. You would never guess who we ran into first, George from the night before. We quickly walked past him, too embarrassed to explain now, but he guessed something was up anyway....(TL).
HJ and I had actually walked along this track, (the wrong one for us) but only for an evening stroll.
Here is a photo of us on the wrong-track....note the cow-poo on the track, lots more where that came from!
